Intent To Use
Definition:
ITU - refers to the intent-to-use filing basis provided for in Trademark Act. Applicants who have not yet used (in commerce that can be regulated by Congress) the mark they wish to register may file a trademark application under this filing basis.
Office Action
Definition:
A letter from a trademark examining attorney setting forth the legal status of a trademark application. There are several types of Office actions: examiner’s amendments, priority actions, non-final Office actions, final Office actions, and suspension inquiry letters.

Definition:
The U.S. Trade Representative is a a cabinet-level official, with the rank of ambassador, who is the principal adviser to the U.S. president on international trade policy.

Definition:

Abandonment
Definition:
An application that has been declared abandoned is "dead" and no longer pending. Abandonment occurs under several circumstances. The most common reason is when the USPTO does not receive a response to an Office Action letter.
